I am a regular contributing writer specializing in business-related issues for Alaska Business Monthly and personal finance topics for Bankrate.com. I’m also a staff writer for the finance education website, Mint.com.

My past experience includes working for The Volunteer Center of United Way Westchester as a writer for their Youth Volunteer Guidebook 2008-2009 and as a volunteer translator and writer for the College Forward “The Loop” Newsletter. Also, I served as Treasurer for the Society for Hispanic MBAs.
Presently, I work as a personal finance writer for the Forbes owned personal finance education site Investopedia.com and I wrote a Hispanic Entrepreneur Series for Journelism.orgfor which I interviewed successful Hispanic entrepreneurs and wrote about their struggles and achievements. I also wrote a blog for Journelism.org about the educational tools and resources Latino students and emerging entrepreneurs need to achieve their dreams.
My informative articles have been published in various news outlets and websites including Huffington Post, Fidelity, Fox Business News and Yahoo Finance. I’ve also been featured on WIBC Indy’s News 93.1 FM radio and Blog Talk Radio. I am a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the National Writers Association and my educational background is an MBA with honors. I’ve also taken all the courses required for Certified Financial Planners including General Principles of Financial Planning, Education Planning, Risk Management and Insurance Planning, Investment Planning, Tax Planning, Retirement Savings and Income Planning, Estate Planning, and Financial plan development (capstone) course.

I’m also teaching! I love teaching financial literacy and have been doing it through the FPA (Financial Planning Association) and the W!SE Working in Support of Education program. I’ve been helping victims of domestic violence transition into a productive life equipped with the financial tools they need to become more money savvy. The curriculum includes, goal setting and budgeting, credit and credit repair, insurance, checking, paychecks/banking, investing, retirement, taxes, buy or rent and kids and money.

I am currently a member of the AFCPE Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education® and taking the coursework to become an Accredited Financial Counselor®
